Mike Lee, Utah’s senior US senator today, authorized the Kim for Utah campaign to issue the following statement:
“Kim Coleman has been a true conservative thought leader in the Utah legislature. She votes according to principle, and not on the basis of convenience or self-interest. I wish all lawmakers were like Kim Coleman!”
Lee clerked for both the US District Court for the District of Utah and for future Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. Lee was as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah from 2002 to 2005 before joining the administration of Gov. Jon Huntsman, serving as his general counsel. In 2010, Lee unseated the incumbent to claim Utah’s Senate seat.
“Mike is a mentor, a friend, and Stephen Moore even said we would be a dynamic duo! I remember putting up 150 Mike Lee signs to help his first Senate bid in 2010 – never did I imagine at the time I might have the opportunity to serve with him in Congress. Mike has been one of my go-to’s on Constitutional matters and even helped me pass legislation in Congress to help West Jordan against an unreasonable federal agency overreach. I look forward to working with him to help the whole country.”
